OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_EN :

This show uses puppets with different operation characteristics, as well as puppets of different scales.

We are faced with an old woman who lives alone in an isolated house in the mountains and who anxiously awaits the arrival of her granddaughter, sometimes mistaking the sound of the wind for the child's voice. The set to which this puppet belongs consists of a house in a rocky area and inside the house there is a bed and a window, which is similar to a traditional Portuguese house in the north of Portugal.

This tabletop puppet, controlled by a puppeteer, moves around a small space with a realistic character. Although symbolic, considering the small scale to which it refers, is intended to convey to the audience an idea of a figure from the rural universe. It has a set of characteristics, given by the interpretation, that emphasize its age, the rigidity of its character, as well as the rural place to which it belongs.

This figure is manipulated by placing the hand inside the puppet's torso and moving the puppet's head with the thumb. The puppet's arms are controlled directly. It has no legs, but it has a skirt that extends to the floor and, with the weight of a chain, it can create the illusion that there are legs.
