OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_EN :
This show is based on the principles of creative reuse of materials and is in line with the company's sustainability efforts. The selection of materials strengthens the narrative connection with the play's maritime setting, placing the character in the cultural context of the fishing community.
This character is an artistic representation constructed by assembling fishing objects such as a shovel, a buoy, and ropes. The buoy serves as the pirate's head, the shovel as his body and the ropes as his arms. The design of the puppet, which has only one leg, refers to the stereotypical pirate with a wooden leg.
When it appears, a voyage unfolds that is perceived to be imagined by young Simão, drawing the audience into this children's universe that unites sea and pirates. This imaginative aspect of the Pirate character is a tool that allows us to get closer to children's universe and imagination, children being the greatest creators of stories from everyday objects.
OBJECT_CONTEXT_EN :
This creation was born as result of the relationship the company has established with the fishing community of Espinho.
