OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_EN :

Crafted with the aim of portraying the miners of São Pedro da Cova, in Gondomar, this puppet embodies their identity.

This is a puppet with small rods in the head and torso, which are made from tool handles, emphasizing the rural, traditional and archaic nature of the function of these figures. It also has a mouth mechanism for the various speeches on stage, a lighting system in the head and magnets in the palms of the hands. The fact that his hands are equipped with magnets allows him to hold the shovel he uses to load coal, as well as to lean freely on the wagon he uses to walk into the mines.

This puppet moves around the stage with enormous mobility in its legs, arms, head, and torso. It is manipulated by the actress, who sees it as a child.

It is an almost integral wooden sculpture, roughly carved to convey the idea of hard, rough work on the material.
