OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_EN :
This puppet has an internal wooden structure to which sponge has been added to define the body's volume. The head was modeled using paper mache and wood. The detailed costume is based on traditional folk costumes from Romania, where our tale comes from, and so it was possible to imprint on it an identity of the region's heritage.
Hair and beards were defined using different fabrics, trying to give the puppet an aged character. His back was curved using a curved manipulation rod. This same rod allows the puppet to look to the right or left with a simple, slight rotation of the rod between the manipulator's fingers.
This figure has the particularity of being manipulated either through the manipulation rods or directly. The puppet also has a prop, a hammer which it holds in both hands and which serves as a manipulation rod for the hammering action.
In addition to the table, the figure also uses the bodies of other manipulators in order to move around while being manipulated by one or two manipulators.
OBJECT_CONTEXT_EN :
This puppet represents a miller who has made a pact with the devil to achieve a life full of riches. In the end, the miller is summoned and swallowed up by the enchanted pond.
