OBJECT_DESCRIPTION_EN :
The puppet has an internal wooden structure and a mouth joint. The manipulation of this puppet is inspired by the traditional Japanese manipulation called “bunraku”, where two manipulators have their faces hidden by a black cap and only the one manipulating the head has his face uncovered. All the manipulators are dressed in black and the light is used in a curtain/band of light that only allows the presence of the puppet to be seen.
A completely hidden manipulator manipulates the puppet's feet, a second manipulator, also completely hidden, leaves his hands visible by using them as the puppet's hands through straps implemented in the puppet's costume. A third manipulator operates two rods, one that coordinates the puppet's torso and a second that controls the head and has a trigger that allows the puppet's mouth to open and close.
The physical actions that this puppet can perform are extremely diverse, as it can push, pull, carry objects, walk and talk. The manipulation is structured in a well-defined choreographic way that seeks harmony and fluidity of movement between the puppet's arms, legs, torso, and face.
OBJECT_CONTEXT_EN :
This puppet has been on stage for several years and is one of the first creations of the Teatro e Marionetas de Mandrágora. This puppet used different manipulators and had a versatility that allowed it to perform a variety of movements and actions.
The story plays out scenically with books that form piles and open to continue a narrative in which what is read becomes reality for the puppet, which lives the stories as if it were really there.
